Changing planes in Frankfurt, Germany

We woke up on board the plane bright and early.  We ate breakfast and got ready to land.  We landed in Frankfurt, then went through customs to our connecting flight.  When we first took off in Frankfurt there was a break in the clouds.  It was so pretty.  It reminded me of the song "Holes In The Floor Of Heaven"
because it looked like someone was watching over the earth.  Stephanie Snook

Choir girls were waking up, and this group sang a song for us!

In an hour we were in the airport looking for our connecting flight to Munich.
This flight was quick, just an hour.  Abby passed the time guy watching, as usual.  Sarah McJunkin

Arrival in Munich, Germany

We have landed in Munich!  The tram takes us to the gate.

We claim our luggage and load the bus and trailer.

We met our bus drivers and tour escorts.  Our bus drivers were Peter and Rudy.
Our tour escorts were Ilse and Inga. Sasha Maksimik

We had lots of luggage - smile Laura, it's going to be fun!

Next stop, downtown Munich and...lunch!
We see a familiar site, can you find it in this picture?

HOORAY, McDonalds!!!

After lunch, we begin our tour of Munich!

The girls take a walking tour of Munich.

There was lots to see.  We got out of the bus for a walking tour of Munich.  We tried to check into the hotel, but it was too early so we watched the Glockenspiel Clock.
It was made almost 200 years ago and still runs great.  Sarah McJunkin

Above and Right:  The Glockenspiel Clock, at Munich City Hall

The Texas Girls Choir in front of the Glockenspiel.

It is a sight to see.  We took a picture in front of City Hall.
The Glockenspeil plays only at certain times.

We wait for the Glockenspiel to chime at 5:00 p.m.

Shirley Carter wrote:

"The walking tour was informative and we especially liked the
Glockenspiel with life-size figures dancing and soldiers battling."

It was a clock that told a story of the king and the festival he had.
The French soldier battling the German soldier but in the end the French man lost.
Then on the lower part of the clock small dancers began to whirl and twirl.  Elonka Caldwell

The Knights actually had a duel

and one falls off his horse - there he goes!

And then a band of buglers...

...and can you see the dancers?

After touring downtown Munich we arrived at City Hotel.

Marissa, Alison and Joleen were enjoying the trip so far.

Then we checked in to our hotel.

We got back to the hotel and walked next door to Weissbierkeller to have dinner at about 8:00.  We had pork and German potato salad.  We got back to our hotel, went to our rooms, took showers and settled into bed.  Jessica Elizondo
